This piece was inspired by old stories and folkloric carvings, found on ceramics and wooden objects throughout Europe and Scandinavia. Serpents have a long history of popularity, as a symbol of rebirth through the shedding of their skins, and cunning, as they are smart little creatures. This particular piece was designed to be used as a button clasp, with a small bead as the stop. I crocheted a floral necklace and used this with a loop to close it.

This pendant is made of pure bronze, from a hand carved mold. The pendant features hallmarks of a handmade item: fingerprints impressed into the back, little cracks and crevaces - not defects, but marks left to replicate ancient coins.

Note: All of our items are hand crafted from the finest materials available. It is our wish to create goods that will last several lifetimes and be cherished by our great grand kids! Also be aware that each piece is made by hand, meaning little differences may occur, like a tiny air bubble or seam line may be visible. These variances should not be viewed as flaws, but as evidence they are a handmade product.

This piece measures about an 3/4" wide and a little over an inch tall - although occasionally there is a bit of variation, due to the process of pressing out individual pieces. The listing is for one item. Thanks for looking!
